A Journey of Brilliance, Culture, and Record-Breaking Success in Botswana.
Ghana’s brightest young mathematicians set out with one mission: to represent their nation with pride at the Pan African Mathematics Olympiad (PAMO) 2025, held from June 11–18 in Gaborone, Botswana. And what a journey it was!
The Journey Begins
From Accra to Gaborone, Team Ghana embarked on this continental challenge with high hopes and sharpened minds. This year’s delegation featured six outstanding students, selected for their exceptional problem-solving ability and discipline:

Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (Presec Legon)
Brimpong Addai Akosah
Albert Owusu Boakye
Opoku Ware School
Stephen Kofi Apemah-Baah
Wesley Girls’ High School
Lydia Elikplim Yawa Adanuty
Laura Assan-Donkoh
🇬Ghana Christian International High School
Ariel Amoonoowa Asman
These students were accompanied by seasoned coaches and officials under the leadership of the MISE Foundation-Ghana, with assistance and coordination from the Ghana Olympiad Academy (GOA).
🧠 Days of Intense Competition
Over 250 students from 23 African nations convened in Botswana to tackle some of the continent’s most demanding math problems. Ghana’s representatives maintained their focus and drive, exhibiting discipline and creative reasoning across multiple days of rigorous competition.
🏛 Beyond the Numbers — Exploring Botswana
Midweek, the pressure of the exams gave way to cultural enrichment as participants explored Botswana’s historical gems — including the Three Chiefs Monument and the National Museum. It was a day filled with discovery, reflection, and international bonding. For many, this was a reminder that PAMO is not just about math — it’s about meaningful exchange, experience, and empowerment.
And Then Came the Results… HISTORIC

This achievement placed Ghana firmly in the Top 10, marking a proud and transformative milestone in the country’s mathematical journey.
